Park Progress in Kent Junior Cup
Wilderpark earned their place in the Kent Junior Cup quarter-final draw after a comfortable 2-0 win against Surrey South Eastern Combination League opponents, Beckenham FC, at a rainy Raley’s Field on Saturday.
After a tentative start the Park started to gain the upper-hand and opened the scoring with a stunning first goal for the club by Ollie Barnes whose curling effort found the far corner of the net past the out-stretched keeper.
The second half saw the Park gain control of the tie when Alfie Smyth put the game past the visitors with a well finished goal midway through the half. A fine defensive display prevented Beckenham having many chances but a great save from close range by Christian Esposito ensured the clean sheet.
